Kwinana Bowling Club to Benefit from new Lighting Upgrades

19 February 2021

A re-elected McGowan Labor Government will deliver $81,000 to upgrade lighting at the Kwinana Bowling Club.

The Kwinana Bowling Club has requested upgrades that will allow the club to reduce energy costs, attract new members and provide more evening events and competitions. The successful community bowls program has seen an increase in community involvement at the club and now further demand for modern services.

The reduction in energy costs and the ability to host more events in the evenings will be a huge benefit for the Kwinana Bowling Club and will allow them to continue to be an active and sustainable community sporting club.

Comments by Roger Cook MLA, WA Labor Member for Kwinana:

“The Kwinana Bowling Club has a proud 60-year history and has become a pillar of the Kwinana community.”

“As a long-term supporter of the Kwinana Bowling Club, I was keen to assist when the bowling club made contact to request upgrades to their lighting infrastructure. The club has become such an important part of the Kwinana community and I am so pleased that a re-elected McGowan Government will be able to contribute $81,000 towards this important project.”

Comments by Greg Edson, President Kwinana Bowling Club:

“Thanks to the generosity of Roger Cook and the Labor party donating $81,000 to our club for lighting upgrades we will now be able to continue to grow our community bowls program and also involve more of our older members in night games that they have not been able to do in the past. “
