Whilst Telethon took up most of the airtime this past weekend, the Kwinana BlueJays Baseball Club also kicked off their 2021/22 season. Now while my skills were a little rusty, it was an absolute joy to be invited to participate in their open day by throwing the first ceremonial pitch, here in Kwinana at Thomas Oval. 

I will repeatedly point to staying healthy and active, as well as the participation in, and success of, our social groups, organisations, and sporting clubs, as the heartbeat of any vibrant community. Kwinana has always excelled in this area, and it is sporting clubs such as the BlueJays BC which provide a place for the young, and the not so young, to come together, enjoy themselves, and stay active. 

I love the sporting clubs in Kwinana, and I've had a long relationship with the Kwinana Blue Jays, and I hope this continues well into the future. Thank you for including me in your 2021/22 open day, and best of luck for the season ahead!
