Supporting Local Business

Supporting Local Business Main Image

Prior to the commencement of recent COVID-19 restrictions, I was fortunate enough to host the Rockingham-Kwinana Chamber of Commerce' "Business After Hours" event in conjunction with the City of Kwinana. We were also lucky enough to be joined by a special guest, the Minister for Small Business Reece Whitby.

Small business has done it particularly tough during COVID-19, as restrictions directly impact on their ability to generate an income, while bills and wages still need to be paid. This is particularly the case in the Kwinana area, as small businesses make up a large portion of economic activity in the rapidly expanding area.

Events like this are a fantastic opportunity to not only outline the opportunities ahead but listen to the concerns held by those working at the coalface. It is establishing this relationship between Government and the private sector that will ensure support is available wherever possible, and local business can flourish well into the future.

A great evening was had by all, and I look forward to the next Business After Hours event!
