McGowan Government to keep Kwinana Southern Districts BMX on track with $16,000 commitment

25 February 2021

A re-elected McGowan Labor Government will provide $16,000 for a new asphalt track for the Kwinana Southern Districts BMX club.

The club has been in the area for over thirty years and has become an integral part of the young, expanding community.

As a result of their success and expanding membership base, Southern Districts BMX has requested upgrades to the track to improve the quality of the facilities at the club.

Comments by Roger Cook MLA, WA Labor Member for Kwinana:

“As the Member for Kwinana I’ve always encouraged physical activity, especially bike riding. It is good for health, mental health and wellbeing”.

“The Southern Districts BMX club is a great local club and I’m really proud that a re-elected McGowan Government can deliver this project for the Kwinana community”.

Comments by Nic Marshall, Club Vice-President, Southern Districts BMX:

These upgrades will make sure the track is up to scratch in terms of quality and safety".

"We have a lot of young members, as well as being open to the public, so the upgrades are beneficial for everyone”.
